故事大綱105 minutes : 
八両金(洪金寶-飾)在大陸文革期間偷渡到美國，他一 住十多年，但是生活艱苦。最後靠在紐約當計程車司機維 生。當他取得美國綠咭之後，計劃回鄉探親。他相信男人沒 有八兩金隨身，不算男人，於是向親友借了不少金飾佩戴， 湊足八兩金。他幾經艱苦返到鄉間，卻發現家人離開了汕 頭，搬到台山祖屋居住。人生路不熟所以逼與童年死對頭烏 咀婆一齊上路。八兩金帶領烏咀婆及其幼弟日夜兼程。八兩 金終於抵達鄉間，與分別了十多年的父母妹妹重聚。在鄉裡 親人的洗塵宴中，有人替八兩金安排女子相親，然而在八兩 金心裡，只記掛烏咀婆一人，和擔心她那將回來迎娶她的未 婚夫……
